Definition

Forest resources encompass all the natural elements and benefits derived from forest ecosystems, which are complex ecological systems dominated by trees and other woody vegetation. These resources are not merely limited to timber but extend to a vast array of tangible and intangible benefits crucial for ecological balance, economic development, and human well-being.

From a fundamental perspective, forests are vital carbon sinks, absorbing atmospheric carbon dioxide and mitigating climate change, thereby playing a critical role in global environmental stability.
