To excel in 'Molecular Basis of Inheritance' for NEET, a multi-faceted strategy is required. Firstly, conceptual clarity is paramount. Understand the 'why' behind each process (replication, transcription, translation) rather than just rote memorization.

For instance, why is replication semi-conservative? Why is the genetic code degenerate? Secondly, master the experimental evidence. For experiments like Griffith's, Avery's, Hershey-Chase's, and Meselson-Stahl's, focus on the experimental design, the isotopes/materials used, the observations, and the definitive conclusions drawn.

These are frequently tested. Thirdly, memorize key enzymes and their specific functions for each process. Create flowcharts for DNA replication, transcription (prokaryotic vs. eukaryotic), and translation, highlighting the enzymes at each step.

Fourthly, understand the genetic code properties thoroughly – triplet, degenerate, unambiguous, universal, non-overlapping, and comma-less. Practice interpreting codons and understanding start/stop signals.

Fifthly, Lac Operon is a must-master topic. Understand the roles of the regulator gene, promoter, operator, structural genes, repressor, and inducer (allolactose), and how glucose affects its regulation (catabolite repression).

Draw out the 'on' and 'off' states. Finally, pay attention to applications like the Human Genome Project (goals, salient features, applications) and DNA Fingerprinting (principle, steps, applications, especially VNTRs).

Practice numerical problems based on Chargaff's rules and calculating amino acids/codons. Avoid confusing the roles of different RNA types (mRNA, tRNA, rRNA) and the differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic processes.
