Peptide Bond — Mains Strategy
Mains Strategy
NEET UG primarily features objective-type questions, so there isn't a 'mains' exam in the traditional sense with descriptive answers. However, the depth of understanding required for conceptual clarity in objective questions is akin to what might be expected in a subjective exam.
For peptide bonds, this means being able to articulate not just 'what' it is, but 'why' it has certain properties (e.g., why it's planar, why rotation is restricted). Practice explaining the resonance structures and their implications.
While you won't write long answers, this deep understanding will enable you to quickly discern the correct option even in complex, multi-statement MCQs. Focus on linking the chemical properties of the peptide bond to its biological significance in protein structure and function.
This integrated approach is key to mastering biomolecules for NEET.
